Privacy at The Quiet Oracle.
The site has no user accounts. Names, birth dates, questions and generated readings are processed locally in the browser. Optional feedback and anonymous usage counters are stored separately through Cloudflare D1. The site may display advertising through Google AdSense.
Local processing
Birth dates, names, questions and generated reading results remain in your browser. They are not sent to the feedback database as part of the reading itself.
Optional feedback
If you use “Did this reading connect?”, the site sends your selected reaction, the page, a short technical description of the reading, your optional note and the browser’s language header to a Cloudflare Worker and stores it in Cloudflare D1. The feedback system is designed not to store your IP address in the database. Do not include names, contact details, health information, financial information or other sensitive personal information in the note.
Feedback is used to understand which readings feel useful, unclear or repetitive and to guide improvements. The private feedback dashboard is protected by an administrator secret.
Anonymous usage analytics
The site records simple usage events such as a page view, a Tarot reading being generated, an I Ching cast, a geomancy cast, a drum strike or a Convergence reading. These events store the page, oracle system, event type, a short technical label and a random browser-session identifier. The application does not store your IP address, name, question, birth date or generated reading text in the usage-events table.
The random session identifier exists only to estimate how many separate browser sessions used a feature. It is not an account and is replaced when the browser session ends.
Reading Journal
Readings you choose to save in the Reading Journal are stored only in your browser using localStorage. They are not uploaded to the D1 analytics database. Clearing browser site data or using the journal’s clear button removes them from that browser.
Infrastructure
Cloudflare necessarily processes normal network request information to deliver and protect the site. The Quiet Oracle’s own D1 usage table is intentionally narrower and does not copy IP addresses into the application database.
Advertising and Google AdSense
The Quiet Oracle uses Google AdSense to support the site. Google and its advertising partners may process information such as browser or device data, approximate location, ad interactions, and cookies or similar identifiers in order to deliver, measure, limit and protect advertising. The Quiet Oracle does not copy Google advertising identifiers, IP addresses or ad-profile data into its own D1 feedback or usage tables.
Where consent is required by applicable law, advertising choices are handled through the consent controls configured for the site. Google’s own privacy and advertising policies govern data processed by Google and its advertising partners.
